The Hope of the Revenant
From the beginning of written history, the people of Humia believe that when a child is born, the parents pass on some of their reveries: the subconscious memory, intuition, and internal moral compass possessed by Humans.
848 A.A. : A man by the name of Gerard Meadowbrook discovered a way to harness his reveries through prayer to his ancestors. It was then that the people of Humia came to the conclusion that the reveries of the dead reside somewhere beyond natural comprehension, in the form of a Revenant. The mystery of the Revenant and the reveries is studied by scholars, religious figures, and adventurers alike.
After his discovery, Gerard was believed to be created by the Great Elders, gifted with their reveries. He and his followers formed the Hope of the Revenant: an order of knights dedicated to the study, preservation, and protection of Revenants. They believed that the power of the Revenant's reveries should only be kept and used by those groomed by the order from birth, a controversial policy.
